Folks running your own #mastodon servers: what has your experience been in terms of reliability, resources, upgrades, etc? I’d like to explore a minimal setup on my personal domain where I am the only user.
@davelester I set up a pre-baked Digital Ocean droplet. Pretty straightforward.
@davelester only real issues were needing a min 2GB of memory (I started with 1MB but instance kept hanging/crashing)

@davelester getting my S3 ACLs set up took a bit of trial and error.
@davelester other than that it was pretty easy.
@davelester I used my GSuite account for SMTP relay with a whitelisted IP.
